E-commerce Retail Business
In a partnership with a B2B and Marketing expert, we created an online retail business selling fine linens and a variety of similar products. Using Shopify as the core technology base, we developed an online presence selling primarily to the American market.
Several important technical changes were required to customize the retail site to fit our needs. Custom liquid programming was added for some of our products. I used the Shopify development environment to allow for several purchasing options specific to our product lines.
Environmental Risk Information System
As an employee at Southam Inc., a large Canadian media company, I developed the first Canadian Environmental Risk Information System. Starting with a horrible set of virtually unusable data, I designed and built the first application in Canada to supply phase one reports for land developers.
CRM Development
Initially a project to maintain a custom CRM system for an Architecture and Design company, we expanded the application to a multiuser companywide tool. Using SQL Server on the backend, the system was improved with additional reporting and management tools.
Financial Services Portal
A large Canadian venture capital investment firm required a new website with a secure customer portal. No existing CMS system could easily accommodate their requirements, so substantial customization was needed.
Database Development
A large magazine subscription business needed to consolidate over 10GB of data from a legacy AS400 computer system and analyze the records. The client could generate queries using an unlimited number of fields and produce reports, datasets, and find orphaned or invalid data entries.
